Intro Bonito is Kero Kero Bonito’s debut mixtape. Despite being a full-length album, the band has only referred to it as a mixtape and considers Bonito Generation to be their first album.

Releases[]

Intro Bonito was self-released on Bandcamp in July 2013 with an accompanying Youtube video for “Homework” and then re-released under Denim Records in August 2014. The mixtape was also reissued in April 2023 through Polyvinyl Records, marking its first ever vinyl release.

  • Intro Bonito is heavily inspired by other J-pop artists such as Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, however Japanese rap duo Halcali have been cited as the main influence for the mixtape's approach to multilingual rap.
  • All of the art shown in the visualisers for Intro Bonito were drawn and animated by Sarah.
  • Intro Bonito means "beautiful intro" in Portugese.
  • The cover of Intro Bonito is a speech bubble reading "ケロケロボニト!!" which means "Kero Kero Bonito!!" in English.
